PBA is dedicated to the promotion of safety and
improvement of recreational boating in Pennsylvania, specifically:
- Waterway safety improvements, such as bouyage and channel clearing
- Cooperation with the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, U.S. Power Squadrons and the
Pennsylvania Fish Commission in creating and promoting voluntary boating education programs
- Drafting, sponsorship, and promotion of boating legislation which is responsive to the
needs of the boating public and is consistent with the general public interest
- Providing a voice for the interests of boaters to be heard in the state government
- Promoting practical measures to combat littering and pollution
- Obtaining a fair share of government funds for recreational boating projects
- Achieving a high standard of training and skill on the part of enforcement personnel -
constructive, beneficial enforcement - not harassment
- Encouraging continuing education programs for the safety of all the members
